When JP Morgan launched a report declaring the Metaverse a $1 trillion opportunity, everyone missed the part where they said that marketing “is potentially one of the biggest segments of the metaeconomy.”

When millions of users join the Metaverse, there will be no surprise when brands follow them for advertising purposes. Social media marketing strategies can quickly morph into Metaverse marketing strategies when the technology hits the mainstream. Brands can get the most out of development as users cannot ignore billboards in virtual space.
“Advertising has always followed the eye and, as we see, the number of people spending time in the Metaverses. It will quickly become a channel that the advertiser will look to include in their strategies,” said Ben Putley, CEO of Alkimi Exchange to CoinTelegraph.

Matthew Larby, co-founder of Realm, stated that advertisers are upset about social media marketing as the data is inaccurate. However, he revealed that advertising on Metaverse could provide transparency for every dollar spent.
“Advertising is a fundamental part of most social apps out there. But the deal was pretty bad for both the person creating the data and the advertiser struggling to verify their spend,” he said.
In conclusion, as technology advances, marketing strategies accompany the creation of commercials of a different kind. You never know, the next Super Bowl commercial could be on the Metaverse and we would all go crazy over it.
For the uninitiated, it’s a virtual reality (alternative to reality) space where people will spend their time. It is considered the same as the real world, but in a virtual environment. After the internet, Metaverse will be the next big thing and could be a massive adaptation in the next few years.
